Important Annoucement

Please see the below message from the Chair of the Electoral Commission, Deiric O'Broin, with regards to the arrangements surrounding the upcoming elections in light of the college being closed. candidates:

"In agreement with yesterday’s announcement by An Taoiseach regarding the ongoing Coronavirus outbreak, the Electoral Commission of TU Dublin Students Union will suspend all ongoing elections and campaigning activity - effective from 6pm Thursday March 12th until March 29th, in the first instance. This applies to all TU Dublin campuses. This includes deferring the polling days scheduled for 31st March and 1st April 2020. This is in line with the advice of the National Public Health Emergency Team.

TU Dublin SU is fully prepared to re-activate the electoral process and schedule new polling days once the situation regarding the opening of higher education facilities is clarified by the Department of Education and Skills. We will communicate to candidates and students as more information regarding the situation arises.

Campaigning means everything including online campaigning, buying materials for election, getting sponsoring or anything that could be construed as campaigning when the elections has been suspended.

Any breach of this instruction will be treated as a breach of TU Dublin SU Election Regulations and will be acted upon accordingly.

If you have any questions, please contact elections@tudublinsu.ie"
